That’s right. Don’t ask me what happend. Wordpress was out in a new version, and I tried to upgrade without taking any backup. I learned my lesson. Now I am back, and ready to blog.

Damn.. I hate when stuff like that happens.
I had most of my blogposts disappear at one time and since then, I’ve learned to be more careful. Luckily for me a had a backup less than two weeks old so the problem wasn’t too big.

If you think you lost everything because of an upgrade to the Wordpress installation, there might still be some chance of recovering your data. I would assume that WP upgrades are making changes to the configurations and site structure, but your articles and post data should still be stored somewhere in your database, provided that you haven’t deleted the database itself.
If you have the database, it is worth browsing its tables with a script like phpMyAdmin that should hopefully enable you to copy and paste the articles in to your new site.
